From April 2017 to April 2018, Wanru created a small Canadian landscape watercolor each day for a full year. She later continued the project, gradually expanding into larger circular paintings.

Based in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada. Trained in painting in China and commercial photography at university, her work is shaped by migration and the landscapes that have surrounded her. Working mainly in oil, watercolour, charcoal, and sound, she often brings subtle surreal elements into natural scenes, opening a small inlet for pause and introspection.
