A Gentle Guide to Commissions
Please let us know which artist you would like to work with.
- Send us any reference images and ideas you have. This helps us understand your vision more clearly. If there are specific themes, colours, or emotions you would like the painting to carry, please share those as well. Please note that colours may appear slightly different across screens and monitors. If colour accuracy is especially important, please mail us a physical colour sample. The more detail you can provide, the better we can align with your expectations and create a piece that feels right for you.
- Please let us know your desired size.
- Once we have discussed the details, we will send an invoice for the commission. Paintings that are over $10,000 will only need to pay 70% of the commission fee at this stage. Once the invoice is paid, the artist will schedule the commission in their calendar. If you are working with a specific deadline, please contact us in advance for an estimated start date.
- Our paintings take time to complete, and we truly appreciate your patience throughout the process. Once the painting is finished, the artist will send photos of the completed work for approval. Any changes requested during or after the painting stage that differ significantly from the original plan may require an additional fee to cover the extra time and materials involved.
- If, in some circumstances, we are unable to reach mutual satisfaction with the final painting, your payment may be applied as store credit toward the Chichi Isles online shop.
- For paintings priced over $10,000, the remaining balance is due after final approval and before delivery. Please note that tax may be added depending on your location.
- Insurance is optional and billed separately. Additional shipping charges may also apply depending on the final package size and destination. Any difference will be invoiced after the painting is completed.
- Because commissioned works are created especially for each client, they are final and non-refundable. If an painting arrives damaged, we will work with the client and the shipping carrier to resolve the issue. When possible, a replacement or repair may be arranged after the damage claim is approved.
- We reserve the right to clarify or update these terms when needed.
